Read-a-thon update

Title of book(s) read since last update: Sabriel by Garth Nix
Number of books read since you started: just the one!
Pages read since last update: 108, having a little trouble staying focused
Running total of pages read since you started: 108
Amount of time spent reading since last update: a couple of hours
Running total of time spent reading since you started: same
Mini-challenges completed: one, Kate’s drabble mini-challenge, you can read it below! I love short pieces of fiction. They’re the only kind I can seem to write! If it could be longer I would do a little more with it, but I’m pretty pleased. :)
Other participants you’ve visited: oh, tons, too many to list here! It’s great to see so many people reading!

“The water seemed endless. Was it grey because it was the Water of Death or because her dead eyes could see no colour?

Oh, Brother, oh, Brother, she cried. Her eyes strained to see a figure in the mist, but it was hard to keep her focus. The water called to her, its eddies forming ever-changing patterns. She could sense meaning in the patterns, she knew, if only she would focus on them a bit more…

Her foot slipped and it was only relief she felt as the current grabbed her. He had gone only moments before, she thought, and must have come this way, too. Her cries ceased; she would see him soon.”
And now I am taking a break for a couple of hours to go socialize. Happy reading, everyone!

  1. The reading will stop
    Tomorrow
Bet your bottom dollar that tomorrow
your book count will be higher
    Just keep thinking about tomorrow
all the great books you will have to talk about
    with your blogger friends
If you get blurred or sore, or sleepy
    Just stick up your chin
    and grin
    and say
My TO BE READ PILE, Tomorrow
will be smaller than it was before
    and your spirits will soar
because then TOMORROW, TOMORROW You can go shopping TOMORROW at Amazon and BUY SOME MORE!
