AND THE READ-A-THON BEGINS

Hey! Mia and Jessica are here once again to kickstart the blog with some good Read-a-Thon fun!

Here’s Jessica’s stack:

And here is her introductory meme:

1) What fine part of the world are you reading from today? California, baby!
2) Which book in your stack are you most looking forward to? Hmm, I’m looking forward to a lot of them for different reasons. Maybe the Octavia Butler. I’ve been meaning to reread it for a long time.
3) Which snack are you most looking forward to? I don’t really have any snack plans, but Mia brought over some Girl Scout cookies!
4) Tell us a little something about yourself! I am a human being. True story!
5) If you participated in the last read-a-thon, what’s one thing you’ll do different today? If this is your first read-a-thon, what are you most looking forward to? Well, Mia is getting her first tattoo today, and then later tonight we’re going to a soccer game (go Earthquakes!), so this is going to be a fairly low key and low reading Read-a-Thon.

Over to Mia!

Here’s Mia’s stack (and photograph that is much larger than Jessica’s):

(The top one there is my Kindle in its cover, and I will be reading Black Heart by Holly Black off of it.)

And here is her introductory meme:

1) What fine part of the world are you reading from today? Jessica’s house! Which is superior to doing it at my house because it’s going to be hotter there this weekend. Yuck.
2) Which book in your stack are you most looking forward to? Rain, obviously. RAAAAAIIIIIIN.
3) Which snack are you most looking forward to? Yeah, I’m pretty jazzed about these Do-Si-Dos right here. (Although apparently our GS district renamed most of the cookies to the stupid generic names, so these are actually “Peanut Butter Sandwich” cookies. *shakes fist at Girl Scouts everywhere*)
4) Tell us a little something about yourself! I have pink hair and, as Jessica said, I am getting my first tattoo today. EXCITERRIFIED.
5) If you participated in the last read-a-thon, what’s one thing you’ll do different today? If this is your first read-a-thon, what are you most looking forward to? Yeah, I think this is the first time we’re going into this with other plans actually made, so it will be very reading-event-reading-event. I think we can still have a fulfilling and productive Thon, though!

Okay, let’s get to reading!
